Knowing Your Extensions

The first step to getting a weave is selecting what type of extensions you want.There is processed extensions and virgin extensions to choose from when getting a hair weave.
Processed Hair
*This hair can be purchased at your local beauty supply
*Hair is stripped of cuticles and replaced with silicone
*Hair tends to tangle when silicone washes away
* Hair is already colored
*Hair looks shinny

Virgin Hair
*Hair is purchased from websites advertising virgin hair or local vendors in your area
*The hair cuticles are aligned in one direction and is not replaced with silicone
*Hair doesn't tangle due to silicone washing away
*Hair has not been colored, permed or processed in anyway
*Hair has not been blow-dried or exposed to harsh agents

  2. I always have a problem with ordering hair from websites. My old stylist once told me that some of the hair they sell is not "virgin" hair. In my understanding, the virgin hair should last for at least 1 year. I have been an avid buyer of Milky Way hair but I would love to purchase real virgin hair. Does anyone have any suugestions for sellers?

  4. So that's why synthetic hair looks like a rat's nest after a bit. I guess it's time to save up for virgin hair weaves.

  6. Do you currently sell hair? I am a fiene for virgin hair now because it saves alot of money you can wash, and get more wear out of it. Virgin hair is the best hair invented. Those women who cut all of their hair off are very bold because if I had fine hair I would treasure it.

  7. this was a very informative post. I used to buy hair from the beauty supply when I was not really into weaves and knew that I was not going to keep them in for a long time. But for the past couple of years, I have only purchased virgin hair. It lasts so much longer and the hair is much more natural.
